Annandale residence wins Master Builder Award
September 1, 2015
Brenchley Architects were so pleased to hear today that Pivotal Constructions had won The Master Builders Award in the Adaptive reuse category for the renovation of the ex Studio of Fred Cress in Annadale.
The old warehouse was converted in to a luxury residence, its project name Wabi-sabi. Wabi-sabi represents a comprehensive Japanese aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete.
The house's bare bones were embraced and redefined to create a new modern beauty, that allows light and air to inspire the soul, much like good art does.
Pivotal Constructions, as the judges point out, took this "architecturally crafted warehouse and panel repair shop has been converted into a grand home. The builder has produced a most stunning entry. The trades’ workmanship is perfect." For more details head to MBA by clicking here
